At present, significant disruptions are affecting both the rail infrastructure and connected seaport terminals. These are impacting the stability and punctuality of our network.
Loading delays in Hamburg
We are currently experiencing the following loading delays at Hamburg terminals:
- CTA: approx. 11 hours
- EKOM: approx. 3 hours
- Burchardkai: approx. 5 hours
Infrastructure issues in northern region
Extensive construction work in the greater Hamburg area is severely limiting access to the port. As a result, train flow management has been taken over by the Northern Region. This is causing additional delays on top of the terminal-related disruptions, including postponed train placements in the port.
Impact on our network
These challenges are also affecting inland and seaport terminals, with noticeable effects on overall network stability.
We are doing everything we can to minimise the impact on your bookings. Our dispatching team will continue to keep you informed of any service restrictions on an individual basis.

Track embankment issue
As mentioned in our update on March 28, the main line between Wunstorf and Poggenhagen remains restricted due to embankment damage. Trains are limited to a speed of 30 km/h in this section, resulting in significant delays and backlogs.
Scheduled closure and rerouting
To repair the embankment, a full closure of this route is planned from April 7 to approximately April 30. During this period, all trains will be rerouted via Osnabrück, extending transit times by 2 to 5 hours.
Further overhead line work is scheduled through May 12, which will likely cause additional delays.
