Lars Hedderich (58) will leave the EUROGATE Group on December 31, 2021, effectively stepping down from his role as Managing Director of EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH (EGIM). The move comes as part of the “Future EUROGATE” change process, which aims to permanently reduce the leading European shipping-line-independent container terminal group’s personnel and material costs by EUR 84 million. He will be accompanied by long-time authorised signatories Niels Riedel (Sales) and André Gernhardt (Operations).
The private rail service company boxXpress.de, which specialises in container transport, will be even more environmentally friendly in the future. Beginning January 2021, the company will exclusively use “TüStrom Bahn Natur,” electricity generated 100 percent from hydropower.

EUROGATE Intermodal (EGIM) further optimises traffic logistics within the congested port of Hamburg. The Hamburg-based international service provider for intermodal container transport via road and rail launched an updated version of its TRoad application on 06.05.2019. The app, which was first launched in March 2015, simplifies route planning for local transport in and around the Port of Hamburg, taking into account current market requirements, especially with regard to the slot booking system. The app communicates directly with the driver’s smartphone via push messages and assigns trips to them.
